Frederick Wilks, Managing Director and member of the Board of Directors of AIS Ltd. Prior to joining AIS Ltd, Mr. Wilks worked for six years at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) as Senior Policy and Development Officer. Mr. Wilks started his career in the hedge fund industry at Deutsche Bank Cayman. Mr. Wilks holds a Masters of Science (Hons) Operational Research (Management Science) from the University of Birmingham (UK).
Mr. Wilks is responsible for the Investment Management and Product Management activities of AIS Ltd. Responsibilities include amongst others: approval of investment guidelines, approval of eligible hedge fund investments, trade execution, distribution of fund of hedge fund products in the Caribbean market and fee rebate calculations.
Merdinger Matthew is a member of the Board of Directors of AIS Ltd., Managing Director of Harcourt Alternative Investments (US) LLC in New York and Senior Relative Value Equities Analyst at Harcourt. Prior to joining Harcourt in 2006, Matthew Merdinger worked at ING Investment Management as a hedge fund analyst. He started his career in public accounting. From 1997 to 2000, Matthew held various financial positions at Merck Pharmaceuticals. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as a senior associate at Measurisk LLP, where he provided risk analysis services to institutional investors and funds of hedge funds. Subsequently he worked at State Street Bank as a credit analyst of alternative investment vehicles. Matthew Merdinger earned a Bachelor of Science in Government from the London School of Economics and an MBA in Accounting from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management.
Stephan Fritz
Stephan Fritz is Member of the Board of Directors of AIS Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Harcourt Investment Consulting AG. Prior to joining Harcourt in 2006, Stephan Fritz was at NIB Capital Bank from 2001 to 2006, in his latest position as Managing Director of NIB Capital in Den Haag and Member of the Board of NIB Capital-Petercam Derivatives in Brussels. His responsibilities included trading, structured products and asset management. In addition, he acted as Advisor to the Board of Directors of Harcourt from 2002 to 2006. Before joining NIBC in 2001, his former positions included: Head of Fixed Income and FX Trading at AIG in Paris and London, Head of Financial Innovations Group at DG Bank and Swaps Trader at Deutsche Bank, both in Frankfurt. Stephan Fritz graduated from the University of Southern California in 1990 with a Masters in Applied Mathematics. He also earned a Diploma in Economics and Mathematics at the University of Ulm in 1991.
Vanessa Godfrey-Banks
Vanessa Godfrey-Banks holds the position of director and Vice Chairman of the Cayman Islands Development Bank. She was also the Chief Operating Officer and a director of Bank Vontobel Cayman. Prior to joining Bank Vontobel Cayman in 2005, Mrs. Godfrey-Banks was the Financial Controller and Company Secretary of Deutsche Bank (Cayman) Limited. She started her career in the financial industry with the Cayman Islands Government and proceeded to KPMG where she became a Certified Public Accountant. Mrs. Godfrey-Banks attended the University of Central Florida where she received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
Margaret Thompson
Margaret Thompson is a member of the Board of Directors and Manager of Investment Operations of AIS Ltd. She was Managing Director of bank Vontobel Cayman and Vontobel Trust Company Cayman until 2009. Prior to joining the Vontobel Group in 2001, Mrs Thompson was the Manager of Cititrust (Cayman) Ltd, a Citigroup subsidiary. Having started her career with Lloyds Bank International in Guernsey, Channel Islands, Mrs Thompson has 20 years of multi-jurisdictional experience covering trust and company administration, international banking, funds and auditing. Mrs Thompson holds a BSc (Hons) degree from Plymouth University, is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practioners and a Notary Public for the Cayman Islands.
